Would be nice if Karim Sadjadpour Answers Teymoor Nabili's simple question!

So, here is an interesting twitter exchange that happened yesterday between Karim Sadjadpour and Teymoor Nabili.

Mr.Sadjadpour is of Carnegie Endowment for International Peace -- he also happens to be the favorite Iran Expert of Blake Hounshell .They wrote that AWESOME War Porn Fan Fiction for WaPo exactly a year ago, remember?!
Mr.Nabili is a former senior anchor of Al Jazeera English, who is a brilliant interviewer in my opinion.

Here it is:

As far as I know, untill this moment, Mr.Sadjadpour has not responded to this simple question of Mr.Nabili. I highly doubt he will reply. But, if he does, I will be sure to include it in this post.

  1. The US never directed Saddam to use chemical weapons either. Don't forget the war could have ended in 1982. Except Iran chose to invade Iraq even when the world made it clear that it would not tolerate an Iranian victory. All the US did was provide intelligence to Saddam and then Saddam made the decision to use chemical weapons. Iran did not direct Assad to use chemical weapons. Neither did US.

  2. and that's exactly the point. ajadpour is attemptiing to smear Iran with Assad's purported crime by suggesting that providing the money wa tantamount to blessing the use of CW. it's not, and nor was it in the US/Saddam case. (Although the US famously chose to turn a blind eye when Saddam did use the weapons.)

Nabili is not a journalist, but a propagandist (Yes, I have had free time to listen to his biased garbage on AJE). And Sadjadpour already answered the question by the way he framed his original tweet: Iran bankrolled "the man," and "the man" used CW. No suggestion of Iranian direction of CW effort. Plus, Iranian direction of CW attacks or lack thereof does not justify Iran's shameless support for a gas user and the omission of this important fact in Rouhani's op-ed. #CriticalThinking101
